When you live with someone who has a completely different design aesthetic, it can be challenging to agree on furniture and lighting styles. He is VERY traditional, and she likes modern clean lines.

My friends found the perfect solution in their home office area with a Tiffany Style floor lamp and Tiffany Style Table Lamp. To her, they are sleek and modern, but the stained-glass and old world soldering appealed to his traditional side. Compromise is Key!

Decorating a New Apartment

I recently moved into a new apartment and I’ve been having some trouble figuring out how to furnish it, because this is the first time I’ve ever lived on my own. I’ve always mixed and matched furniture with whatever roommates I was living with at the time, but this time it’s my own place and I want to be sure that everything about the apartment fits who I am as a person.

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted for chairs and tables particularly. One easy choice I made was picking up a few Tiffany style table lamps to brighten up the place. I thought those fit my style quite a bit. The next thing I’ve got to work on is decorative items for the walls and tables.

Creating Your Workspace

Having a comfortable, well-organized desk is essential for creating a productive work environment. The desk can make or break your workspace. If you’re cramped and your stuff is crowding in on you, or if you have too much space and nothing is within arm reach, you’ll never experience a successful, happy day at work. Choosing a computer office desk is like choosing a bed; it’s where you will be spending most time of your time and is the focal point of the room.

So, just as much care should go into choosing your desk as would go into choosing a mattress. Make sure that you have enough room to work, but not so much that stuff is going to get lost. Shelves and drawers are always recommended, but not so many that it requires a complex organizing system. Make sure you have enough desk space for your computer and Tiffany desk lamp while still leaving space to write and work on projects.  Whatever you settle on, make sure it is something you can be comfortable spending long hours in.
