51565-accent-lamp-table-lampYour home should always be a place that you feel like you can relax. Considering how stressful the work world can often be, it’s nice to know that you’ve got a very relaxing area to go back to at the end of the day. This is why it’s always good to make sure that your furniture choices are as comfortable as possible, from couches and chairs to whatever sets the mood of the room.

The best way to set a proper, comfortable mood in the room is through lighting, with décor like Tiffany accent lamps. These types of accent lamps will make certain that you don’t have harsh, blinding light coming down on you when you’re just trying to lounge around on the couch after work and unwind. They’re designed to set a certain mood.

Reading by Tiffany Style Table Lamp

P1149741My living room is my favorite place to lounge around and read books. I’m an avid book reader and I usually read a few dozen books a year. I never found myself with much of an interest in television or movies, so my living room’s primary focus is as a place for me to comfortably read in peace and maybe have a few snacks while I’m engrossed in a novel.

I’ve got a few end tables and coffee tables in the room as well, and I’ve got a Tiffany style table lamp that I use to give myself a little bit more lighting when I’m reading, which is incredibly important. There’s nothing more annoying than not having the proper amount of light in the room when you’re trying to read a good book.

Tiffany Lamps to Spruce Up a Drab Apartment

Metal-Hanging-Wall-Art-ideas-for-Living-RoomI had some friends visit my new apartment for the first time yesterday and they immediately questioned my decorating ability. It’s not really my strong suit and they were giving me some pointers about how I could spruce things up. Apparently, my problem is a tendency to keep things looking very drab and dull, when I’m left to my own elements.

Luckily, one of my friends has decided to help me add some life to my place. Her first suggestion was that I add some Tiffany lamps to certain areas of the apartment, because my apartment is low on lighting and there’s not a lot of interesting décor pieces either. I actually really like them; I think that these lamps are definitely a good start.

Care Tips for Porcelain Lamps

Though many consumers are familiar with the value of their Tiffany lamps, not everyone knows how to properly care for the antique lighting fixtures. Tiffany lamps made from lithophane porcelain in particular are often left to gather dust, as the owners are too afraid of damaging the detail work. With the right instructions, you can feel confident in caring for your gorgeous lamps.

When cleaning lithophane porcelain Tiffany lamps, begin by unplugging the lamps from the wall. Mix together four cups of warm water with a few drops of mild dish detergent. Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture and firmly, but gently, rub the porcelain portions of the lamps. With a clean, dry cloth, dry the lamps.
