Dragonfly Tiffany Style Hanging Lamp(I told you this was a project you could do on your own!)

Things You Need:

Tiffany style lighting fixture

• Screwdriver

• Utility knife

• Wire cutter

• Wire stripper

How To Remove The Existing Fixture

Step 1 – Turn off power to the existing fixture by turning off the breaker at the electrical box for the room you are working in.

Step 2 – Remove the globe and unscrew the light bulbs. Use a utility knife to loosen the fixture from paint on the ceiling.

Step 3 – Unscrew the mounting screws. This allows you to pull the fixture away from the mounting plate.

Step 4 – Unscrew the wire nuts and separate the wires of the fixture and the electrical box. Unscrew the existing mounting plate.

Installing Your New Tiffany Style Fixture

Step 1 – Fasten the mounting plate to the electrical box. The tiffany style hanging lamp you purchased will have its own mounting bracket, screws, and wire nuts, as well as a ceiling cap.

Step 2 – Clip the ends of the wires with a wire cutter. Use the wire stripper to remove the protective coating and expose fresh wire so the connection will be sound.

Step 3 – Attach the fixture wires to the wires of the electrical box using supplied wire nuts. Match color to color.

Step 4 – Align the openings of fixture to the mounting plate and attach using the supplied screws.

Step 5 – Screw in the light bulbs and attached the globe (this order can change depending on the fixture, a down light will make you attach the globe first). Make sure not to over-tighten the cap or nut that holds the globe in place. Having it too tight can cause the globe to crack.

Step 6 – Turn on power to the room and flip the light switch to check the installation.
