I recently moved into a new apartment a couple of weeks ago. My lease was up and this new place was considerably bigger than my previous apartment for about the same price. It’s also closer to where I work so that’s also a good thing. The move was relatively painless. I had some buddies help me load all of the heavy furniture and boxes into a truck and that was it.
I usually do a poor job packing. I usually forget something. This time, I made sure I didn’t forget anything by doing three sweeps of the old apartment before I left for the last time. Everything I owned was on the truck when I drove off. I was feeling extra proud of myself while driving to the new apartment. That all changed when I opened the back of the truck and found that all the boxes were toppled over because I forgot to use the safety straps to keep everything in place. A few items were broken like my Tiffany desk lamp and my convection oven. I wondered to myself if I was better off forgetting them back in the old apartment.
