You Can’t Download Furniture

I’m jealous of the stylish furniture that my characters get to use in The Sims. It seems unfair that I’m rarely able to find an affordable gem online or in a thrift store that can spice up my living room décor in the way that I can easily point and click to do the same thing in a computer game. I know it may seem ridiculous to be jealous of characters on a computer screen, but all I have to do is download new furniture when I get sick of the old stuff in the game, and it’s not always as easy to get new, conversation-inspiring furniture at my actual house.

The one type of furniture I have always been good at finding in real life, however, is home lighting. Like I said, I like my furniture to be conversation starters because of how interesting they look because it makes my dinner parties all that much more eventful. Usually, I turn to Tiffany style lamps, because they cover all of the bases I need. Too bad I can’t just download them like I can in my game!

Light A Fire, Endow The Room

I know you are still sweating out the heat wave of Summer, but fall is just around the corner. It won’t be long and you will be stoking the fire in your fireplace, enjoying every bit of heat it puts into the room.

Since most of us enjoy a good fire, we might as well see if we can put the fireplace to a dual use. By adding a Tiffany style fireplace screen, we can take our focal point in the room to another level.

Though my fireplace is attractive on it’s own, a fireplace screen is a necessity, and they are not always as good looking. By adding a Tiffany style fireplace screen you are adding layers of texture, light and color, as well as dressing a fixture in the room that when not in use, can become quite an eyesore.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been afraid of things that go bump in the night. I couldn’t ever sleep with my closet door open for fear of there being a monster in it! It seems irrational now, but that fear of the dark has stuck with me into my adulthood and I don’t like walking around my house in utter darkness because it starts to give me the heebie-jeebies. When it’s dark, I can get scared by my own shadow!

Because of my fears, I’ve always made sure to have a decent amount of lighting going on in every room. I’ve learned that if you buy the right items, you can keep yourself away from creepy darkness without your electricity bill costing you an arm and a leg. To add a little pizzazz to the lights that keep away the nightmares, I keep Tiffany style floor lamps in every room.
